March 24, 1936 – March 17, 2024
Passed away peacefully on March 17th 2024 at Richmond Woods Retirement Village, London, Ontario.
Margaret was born on March 24, 1936 in Glasgow Scotland, the youngest of five girls born to Edith and William McArthur. Margaret left school at an early age and worked for Rolls-Royce before emigrating from Scotland to Canada in 1955.
Having met William (Bill) Turner in Scotland (Inspector in Rolls Royce) he joined her in Canada and they married in Toronto, June 1956. Together they raised two children Sharon (Phil) and Scot (Stacy) and would welcome two granddaughters Desarae (Nick) and Shenelle (Kyle).
Margaret would swim on her lunch break from work, was an avid tennis player, golfer and spent many weekends at dances with the rest of her sisters who along with her mother had all made the journey to live in Canada. Retirement and winters in Florida followed with a new group of friends and as always would play tennis. Bill predeceased Margaret in 1993.
A second chapter in Margarets life began and at a dance in Toronto in 1996 where she was introduced to Robert Enever (Bob) They made a home in Niagara Falls, ON and in the winter they were off to Largo, Fla where they could enjoy a break in the weather and teach Bob the art of tennis. In 2016 they moved to London, ON to be closer to family and welcomed two great grandchildren Chase and Nash, then ultimately a move into Richmond Woods as their retirement residence.
Margaret made friends easily wherever she went. She was a loyal friend who was kind to all and up for any activity including volunteering at York University during the Rogers Cup (Canadian Open). She had an easy nature that earned the adoration of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
At peace, Margaret was surrounded by those she held close to her heart while they visited to laugh and share stories with her, played music and danced.
