Sylvia Pearl Stan (née Meyer), born May 21, 1933, left us peacefully on February 16, 2022, embraced by her family and the love of her life, Edward (Ed) Stan, of 66 years. Sylvia was the daughter of Ada and James (Burt) Meyer, and predeceased by sister, Joan Welsh. Cherished mother of David (Cathy) Stan, Kevin (Marcy) Stan, and Lisa (Vance) Delaurier. Loved grandmother and great grandmother to many. Sylvia will also be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
People often described Sylvia as the sweetest, most gentle and warm hearted person. She had a brilliant smile that lit up any room she was in. She was deeply loved by those who knew her, and she will be missed by many.
We are so thankful to the caring staff at Chartwell Parkhill Long Term Care Residence, and to everyone for their kind words and support during this time.
After the cremation has taken place, if you’d like to pay your respects, an informal celebration of life will be held at the Stan Residence on March 19, 2022 from 1pm to 4pm. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation & Celebrations, Arva (519-963-4003).
If desired, a donation can be made to the Humane Society London & Middlesex or the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners.
Mom often said, “don’t worry, things will always work out”.
Rest easy, Mom.

I’ll always will fondly remember Sylvia reaching out
to me, those many years ago. And those phone calls through
the years. Getting to known each other and her sharing
of her family and the Stan side.
My heart goes out to Edward and to her family for the
loss of a kind warm person. Sincerity Jennifer

Took a trip to Arizona with grandma and grandpa. I had the flu and I felt awful for the whole trip. They still made it a trip to remember. Showing us Sedona and bringing us all around Phoenix. Looking back, even though I felt like garbage, I still remember that trip as an amazing time and it makes me smile when I think about it, especially because I got to spend that time with grandma. So lucky to have had her in my life for 30 years. Luckies granddaughter ever. She will be forever missed and forever loved. Rest easy, Grandma – I love you.
