Peacefully, with his family by his side, our beloved husband, father and grandad passed on April 15, 2025.
David was born in Radcliffe, England, but as an infant moved to Edinburgh, Scotland. It was there he met his wife Isobel and they started their family. In 1974 they immigrated to Canada with their two daughters. Dad always loved to tell stories of his childhood and about Scotland.
Dave leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Isobel; his daughters Sharon (Rich) and Kirsty (late Ron); his grandchildren Charlotte (Callum), Gillian (Andrew), Carson (Taylor), Nathan, and Ben; his sisters, the late Averil (Ian) of Scotland, Mavis (Russ) and his nephews and niece both of Scotland and Canada.
David was a quiet man who loved to fish, golf, read, travel, do crosswords, tinker in the shed, cheer on his football team (Manchester United and the Hearts), and listen to a wide variety of music – especially his LPs. He mde lifelong friends on both sides of the pond. Most of all he loved being with his family. Granda was involved in all aspects of his grandchildren’s lives. Attending all of their activities and quietly videotaping each one of them. He has left us a lifetime of memories.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and medical teams who have been a part of this journey.
Celebration of life details will be posted at a later time when available.
Brilliant storyteller, jokester and general mischief maker. Very much loved, deeply missed.
All our love from Scotland
