It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Laura Jean McCann. Partner to Allan Leitch, Mother of Wesdon and Laran McCann and Daughter to the late Donald McKellar & Wesanne McKellar. You know, it’s like her to pick a weekend filled with love with Valentine’s Day, and Family Day to move on from this world. Laura Jean has been described by many as a vivacious woman; a person with an infectious smile that lights up a room; someone who has an incredible zest for life; an incredible cellist; a fantastic mentor and role model; a talented director and actor in the theatre she loved so much; a strong and competitive gymnast; a fantastic dancer; a bright star to so many; and an overwhelmingly proud and loving mother and grandmother. She was every single one of these things and more. You will be missed by so many, and our love for you is eternal. Until we meet again. We Love You In Memory of Laura Jean McCann we are raising money for a drama scholarship at East Elgin Secondary School. This scholarship will honor her spirits and passion of the dramatic arts and assist others in following a similar dream.
So sorry to hear about your Mother, she was a vivacious woman and such a force in the EESS Drama Department. I remember her well. Loved her sense of humour.

It is still hard to believe we’ve lost this vivacious, talented, loving and generous person. She was such a dedicated member of the Famous Five talent team playing the indomitable Emily Murphy. She will be missed by many and especially her family. Sending love and sincere condolescences to you all. Peace, Nancy Johnson
