The family of Ronald (Ron) Craig MacQueen are saddened to announce that Ron passed away suddenly on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the age of 58.
Ron worked for most of his life at the Cuddy/Cargill processing plant here in London. He really enjoyed participating as a union rep during some of his years there. He had a keen interest in military history, in particular Canadian history and preferred reading all kinds of non-fiction history and musician books. As well, Neil Young could always get Ron singing along and tapping his foot or doing air guitar.
He is predeceased by his mother, Hannah Gillis and step-father Bob Gillis, and brother Ken MacQueen. He leaves behind his lovely daughter, Ellie MacQueen who he loved “to the moon and back.” He will be
missed by his sisters Ellie MacQueen, Tallene MacQueen (Doug Schlievert) and brother Rick MacQueen (Tania). All his nieces and nephews, Joey (Caleb), Kennie (Sam), Aidan (Mikey), Kyle, Camille, Angus and
James (Mallory) have special memories of Ron and how he was a part of their lives while growing up. And the extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins will feel his loss as well.
Cremation and a private family gathering have taken place. Donations can be made in his name to Mission Services London.
My condolences to Ron’s family. I considered Ron And I good friend. We had many conversations about tough, unfair moments and times in our lives knowing those conversations would not be shared with anyone. Always there to help out at work if he could and then nod with understanding when we passed each other in the hallway. I was so happy to see him again a few months prior, and then heartbroken to hear he had passed. Sad to think his presence will no longer shared.
I’m very sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. My condolences to all of you.
Godspeed Ron.
Very saddened by this news. My deepest condolences to the Family. As a coworker of Ron’s we spoke often enough and one thing I know is he had a good heart. He will be very much missed by his co-workers along with his family as we don’t work together for as many years as many of us have at Cuddy/Cargill and not become a family of our own. Blessings!
Our condolences to the Macqueen family.
Ron will be missed
My condolences to Ron’s family. I worked with Ron for many years at Cargill.
He always had a slight smirk and always stopped to say hello.
We worked well on union issues over the years. Ron sharing his side for the union, I for the employer. Always interesting conversations.
So very sorry for your loss.
