Surrounded by her family at Westmount Gardens, on January 16, 2023, at the age of 64. Brenda entered the gates of Heaven after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Heart disease. Beloved wife of Richard for over 47 years. Cherished mother of Melissa LaForme, Kyley Vandelaar, and Jordan LaForme. Loving and adored Nanny of Lily, Lauren, and Lucas. Missed by the LaForme family, the Tryon family and many close friends. Special thanks to the staff at Westmount Gardens for their compassionate care of Brenda, and the support to her family.
Brenda was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanny, and as a dog-mom too. Brenda had a vivacious personality and incredible sense of humour. She made friends everywhere she went and had the ability to talk to anyone as if she had known them for years. Many will fondly remember Brenda’s love of sending handwritten cards. She was extraordinarily generous and had a heart for the disadvantaged. Her unwavering faith in the Lord is her greatest legacy. Despite her own struggles, she was an encourager to everyone around her. Brenda was not afraid to share her faith in the Lord and her hope in Heaven.
In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family celebration of life. If you wish to make a donation in Brenda’s honour, please consider an organization close to her heart, Teen Challenge Canada.
