With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Donald “Don” James Charters on Monday, March 17, 2025, at LHSC – University Hospital. Beloved husband of Patricia “Pat” (Whittingham) Charters. Loving father of Kerry O’Laughlin, Tracy Charters, and stepfather of Mandy McGill. Fondly remembered by his furry pal Daisy. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grand children and his nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law of Angele Charters, Gerald & Wendy Whittingham, and Linda Whittingham.
Don was one of the kindest men I have ever met, and I was honored to spend the last 29 years with him. Love you forever.
Keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made in his memory to Humane Society London & Middlesex or the charity of your choice.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 6 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Grand Bend, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $3/km (one way travel only).
The kindest man of them all was Don, my step father who I had welcomed into my life at the age of 13. He was kind and funny. He got along with everyone, I remember stories he told me of his childhood and adventures he had taken in life. I will forever keep him close to my heart.

although you were my grandfather you were the father figure in my life for my whole 27 years, and I thank you so much for taking me in as your own, and loving me unconditionally!
The kids and I have taken your passing with such heavy hearts. It hurts to know you won’t be around anymore but I find peace in knowing you’re in heaven with no pain anymore, And one day I’ll meet you at the gates till then you’ll be missed by me and the kids so so much,
I love you with everything in me!
