Passed away peacefully after a long illness at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 of London, at the age of 86. Much loved husband of Carla (Bloomdale) Blackwell for over 63 years. Proud father of Robert and Kerry (Morrissey) Blackwell, and Gregory and Darcy (Allen) Blackwell. Adored grandpa/pa of Devyn, Gwen; Connor, and Rachel. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Mary (McGowan) Blackwell, and his 8 siblings.
Charlie will be remembered for his immense love of his family, especially his grandchildren. He and Carla loved to travel around exploring new places. He spent many evenings watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leaf’s on TV, he was a die hard fan.
Charlie’s memorial service will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, 21557 Richmond Street, ARVA on Wednesday, November 16th at 11 AM with Rev. Wendy Mencel officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Wm. McKeough, Dr. Andrew House and community care nurse, Carrie for their care and compassion shown towards Charlie.
