It is with great sadness but understanding hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Barczynski on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the age of 66. Cherished husband and soulmate of Sharon Fitzsimmons. Dearly loved father of Lawrence Barczynski, Bryan Nash and stepfather of Marc Le Blanc, and Onile Le Blanc. Survived by his sister Linda Barczynski. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Stanislaw (Stanley) and Martha Barczynski.
Peter was known for his admiration of the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, photography and the beauty nature had to offer. Peter was recently retired from 23 years of devoted service to the City of Hamilton. He is recognized for his outgoing nature, a “social butterfly” and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and will be remembered for his sense of humour and generosity. Peter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Sharon & family, Linda & family:
Nancy & I are so very saddened by the news of Peter’s passing. We remember Peter from the Polish Hall in St. Catharines from many years back— dances & functions at the Hall, the Wawel Dance Ensemble, …—. Peter always greeted us: with a big smile; ‘Hi, how are ya; a hug; & a good handshake. His smile & laugh was infectious!! Always, on seeing any member of the Barczynski family,— Mr.& Mrs Barczynski, Linda & Peter— it was always the same. Although we didn’t connect much over the last number of years, we will both remember Peter very fondly.

Sending my deepest condolences to Peter’s loved ones; may the times of joy and happiness you shared together bring you comfort at this time. I had the pleasure of working with Peter at the City of Hamilton and each time his shift was working he always visited with a smile and funny story. Our chats always involved a quick story about his boys or something he was planning with Sharon; thinking of what to get her for Valentine’s Day or some other occasion. Peter brought joy to each day we had with him. Gone from this life far too soon, you will not be forgotten Peter.
