April 8, 1962 – November 27, 2023
Dave passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London in his 62nd year. Devoted dad to Evelyn. Best friend and partner to Karen. Dave is survived by his brothers Doug (Linda), and Barry. Cherished uncle of Wendy (Mark), Ginny (Eli), and Becky (Nick) and great-uncle of Patrick, Adaline, and Alice. He will be greatly missed by his best friends Dan, Jim, and Nick, many cousins, and his aunt Marion. Dave is predeceased by his dad Jim (2011) and mother Arlene (2023) and his niece Andrea (2006). He leaves behind many friends from the AJ Tyler Operations Centre in London and many more.
Dave loved adventure; he believed life was best lived at full throttle. With Evelyn at his side, there were butter tart runs to Tobermory; Sunday afternoons under the bridge in Sarnia eating fries or travelling for vacations. There were many cups of coffee enjoyed with family and friends. Dave often said there was nothing like waking up early on a camping trip to the smell of fresh brewed coffee and the sound of an aluminum boat roaring across the water. He loved the family farm and spent many hours in the bush maintaining the woodlot. He loved the crunch of the autumn leaves under his feet after a hard frost.
Dave had many words of advice he lived by; his favourites being “when the going gets tough; the tough get going” and “no sense in worrying about the “what ifs”, keep going”, and lastly “if you haven’t heard a rumour by noon, start one”.
Cremation has taken place. Dave’s graveside service will be held at Medway Cemetery, 14332 Ten Mile Road, Ilderton (East of Highway 4), on Saturday, December 2nd at 10 AM. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation & Celebrations, Arva (519-963-4003).
Many thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Hospice, the London Regional Cancer Centre and to those who helped this past year. Special thanks goes to Julie M. for her care and compassion. Karen and Evelyn would also like to thank his many friends and family who came to visit, to help, and to check in. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s name can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or LHSF – Regional Cancer Centre.

My condolences to the family. Dave was a true gentleman to work with. He would tackle any job that he was assigned to do and never complain. He always enjoyed our Christmas dinners in the weld shop. He will certainly be also missed at the Bathurst garage. Rest in peace Dave.
